Hello Schnauzer people,
get your boots and hats ready, it's time for another play-date. We hope you are all well and happy and sassy, as usual, and that you can join us for our first 'chilly weather' MeetUp..... Trout Lake has been suggested, and Pepper and I definately agree its a great place, we scouted it out! You can GOOGLE it for yourself, or here's a blurb we found, check it out....
[color=blue]Trout Lake is very easy to find--approach Victoria from 12th Ave or Broadway if going east/west. Drive up Victoria if coming from the south. If you are looking for a great off-leash dog park, then this is the place for you to go. There are two great locations around the lake where dogs are permitted without a leash--the remaining areas you will be required to have a leash on your dog or you could face a fine. But really, there is so much more to this place then just being a great off leash dog park. Surrounding the lake is a marshy area which attracts many variety of ducks, song birds, and heron. If you are lucky you will see the occasional bald eagle fly over head, or an osprey fishing in the lake! What a sight to see! There are two concession stands, sporting fields, one designated swimming area, gazebo's, picnic tables, barbecue pits, washrooms, outdoor showering areas, and a community centre
I know we all follow the rules, but here they are as a reminder for those new schnauzer owners.....
off-leash code
• You must clean up and properly dispose of your dog's waste.
• You must be present and in verbal control of your dog at all times.
• Dogs must wear a valid license and have current vaccinations.
• Dogs must be leashed before and after using the off-leash area.
• You must have a leash in hand at all times while your dog is running free.
• If your dog exhibits aggressive behaviour, you must leash it immediately.
• You are responsible for any damage or injury inflicted by your dog.
Reminder, please post any photos you have to our site. Lots of people are checking it out, and we have new members signing up often. Thanks for all your participation. Dress warm and dry, and bring a big towel for the ride home, just in case (but we all know that the sun shines on us always, cause we have Schnauzers !!) See you November 8th at Trout Lake Park. Lets meet at the community centre parking lot at 11 am. Cheers !! Deb and Pepper
