Hello Schnauzer people, get your boots and hats ready, it's time for another play-date. We hope you are all well and happy and sassy, as usual, and that you can join us for our first 'chilly weather' MeetUp..... Trout Lake has been suggested, and Pepper and I definately agree its a great place, we scouted it out! You can GOOGLE it for yourself, or here's a blurb we found, check it out.... [color=blue]Trout Lake is very easy to find--approach Victoria from 12th Ave or Broadway if going east/west. Drive up Victoria if coming from the south. If you are looking for a great off-leash dog park, then this is the place for you to go. There are two great locations around the lake where dogs are permitted without a leash--the remaining areas you will be required to have a leash on your dog or you could face a fine. But really, there is so much more to this place then just being a great off leash dog park. Surrounding the lake is a marshy area which attracts many variety of ducks, song birds, and heron. If you are lucky you will see the occasional bald eagle fly over head, or an osprey fishing in the lake! What a sight to see! There are two concession stands, sporting fields, one designated swimming area, gazebo's, picnic tables, barbecue pits, washrooms, outdoor showering areas, and a community centre I know we all follow the rules, but here they are as a reminder for those new schnauzer owners..... off-leash code • You must clean up and properly dispose of your dog's waste. • You must be present and in verbal control of your dog at all times. • Dogs must wear a valid license and have current vaccinations. • Dogs must be leashed before and after using the off-leash area. • You must have a leash in hand at all times while your dog is running free. • If your dog exhibits aggressive behaviour, you must leash it immediately. • You are responsible for any damage or injury inflicted by your dog. Reminder, please post any photos you have to our site. Lots of people are checking it out, and we have new members signing up often. Thanks for all your participation. Dress warm and dry, and bring a big towel for the ride home, just in case (but we all know that the sun shines on us always, cause we have Schnauzers !!) See you November 8th at Trout Lake Park. Lets meet at the community centre parking lot at 11 am. Cheers !! Deb and Pepper

Our attendance count went down to 3 people, mainly because most feel Port Moody is too far away from where many of us live, so we are going back to one of our favourite places, MacDonald Beach near the airport. Check your email today for directions, or contact me directly for information. deb@direct.ca or 604-328-3507. If its picnic-nice, bring a snack, and we'll have a meal 11:15 to 12 ish, and then do our walk/swim with the pups.. I hope this boosts our attendance back up, this may be our last fair-weather get-together, and then it'll be sweaters and boots, but still fun !! yay Schnauzers ............... Hoping to see you Sunday ! Pepper and Deb, oh yah and Stella and Wally too !!

This coming Sunday the 9th is our next Meetup, and we're going to meet at the same place as last time, the Jellicoe Park on the river, where the pups can play in the water if they want, and there's a great walking trail too. There hasn't been much feedback for me about the BBQ, so the 9th will be a regular Meet-Up, and we'll postpone the food idea till another day. Bring water, and be ready to play !! Remember to post your photos, we're gathering quite a collection, and it's great to show new members too! So, BBQ/food idea is postponed until another time, regular Meet-Up happening, great venue with lots of parking, washrooms, lots of room to play and relax, lots of shade, all good Schnauzer things. Forget about the cost per person, that was only for the BBQ idea. Deb and Pepper

Due to low responce on this location, and many of our group preferring Sunday the 5th over the following Saturday, we are changing the date and time and location for this event to suit more of our members. I hope this works, and that we have sunshine to play in. Thanks for the location suggestions all ! Pepper and I have also been scouting places for us to meet, and this next area is perfect for us. At our last meetup at Vanier Park, which was beautiful and lots of fun, the general feeling was that White Rock was just too far away for many of our Schnauzers to go, so.............we are scheduled to meet at (sorry don't know the name yet) this gorgeous park along the river just off SE Marine Drive between Boundary and Elliott Streets, in Vancouver, near the Burnaby border. You will love this location. This has a great walkway, lots of grass, seems like great parking, there are washrooms, and you can walk for hours if you want to. The dogs that want to swim can do that, and we have lots of choices as to where to gather and chat, play, talk, whatever the Schnauzers want to do. I hope this suits more of our group. We have a White Rock / South Surrey Schnauzer Group starting up, and have invited them to join our group anytime they like. Turn S off of SE Marine Drive, onto Jellicoe, pass across E Kent N, and then turn R (or East) onto E Kent S. Travel past the tennis courts till you see the Washroom building, park somewhere there, and we'll meet in the washroom area. See you on the 5th of July, NOT in White Rock yayayay Deb and Pepper

The weather is awesome, Schnauzer's are awesome, and Schnauzer people are the BEST!! Please come and socialize, our dogs need it, we need it, and it's FUN !! Not many suggestions re meeting place handed in, and McDonald Beach brought the most votes. Next time, a Vancouver location, probably Vanier Park, then White Rock the next time. Submit your best choices for next time. Thanks Deb and Pepper
