New York City Schnauzers is a free doggie playgroup for Schnauzers, Schnoodles, and their human companions. It was originally founded in 2003 by Harris and Steph and their Schnauzer Molly. When they moved to Australia Corris and her Schnauzer Roxie stepped up to keep the group going, most recently Savannah and her Schnauzer Quincy were tapped to keep the playgroup going.
We're a fun and friendly bunch of dog lovers who meet on the second Sunday of every month at Madison Square Park's dog run.
The Schnauzer playgroup is supported by a team of volunteers and co-organizers. They help pass out Schnauzers business cards, mingle with members, and take pictures of fun moments. With their support, we grew from 40 members in January 2006 to 215 members (and counting!) as of today. It's truly amazing!

SCHNAUZER MEETUPS ARE GRRREAT!
This summer, we've hosted a dog-friendly sailing trip as featured in New York's Metro newspaper, a pool pawty, and invited a Veterinary professional to speak to members about hound health. At a future NYC Schnauzers Meetup, we'll introduce our playgroup members to agility, a popular dog sport. The proceeds for this event will benefit Animal Haven, a no-kill animal shelter and sanctuary.
SCHNAUZERS RIDE THE SUBWAY!
New York City Schnauzers was featured in Meetup.com's first-ever MTA Subway ad campaign. There are 763 Meetups in NYC and our Schnauzer playgroup was chosen as one of the groups to represent NYC and Meetup as the best of the best! On March 27th, the ads started appearing in New York City subway cars and we're very proud to be a part of it.
